CLINTON - Eva A. (Nicolaou) Detsikas, 82, of 40 Walnut St., formerly of 30 Ross St., died Monday, February 20, 2012 in UMass-Memorial Healthcare, University Campus, Worcester, after an illness.

She leaves her son, Christopher Detsikas, and his wife Marsha of Lancaster; two grandsons, Jared and Andrew Detsikas of Lancaster; a brother, James Nicolaou and his wife, Sophia, and a sister-in-law, Ann Nicolaou, all of California, and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband of 56 years, Thomas Detsikas, who died in 2006, and their daughter, Christine Detsikas, who died in 1981. A brother, Theodore Nicolaou, and a sister, Chrysula Nicolaou, also predeceased her.

Eva was born in Keene, NH and raised in Clinton, daughter of Argyris and Helene (Chalis) Nicolaou. She was a graduate of Clinton High School, Class of 1947.

A devout member of St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church, and the Daughters of Penelope, Eva enjoyed doing volunteer work for various organizations. In addition, she was a voracious reader, enjoyed doing jigsaw puzzles, collecting postcards, and loved scrapbooking and other crafts.

Eva's funeral service will be held on Friday, February 24, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. in the McNally Watson Funeral Home, 304 Church St. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a calling hour at the funeral home on Friday morning, from 10:00-11:00 a.m., prior to the funeral service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Eva to St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church, 132 School St., Clinton, MA 01510.
