LETTERS have flooded in for ovarian cancer sufferer Sarah Dickinson, who is writing a poignant diary for her young daughter Michele.

Here are a just a few of them.

I AM 26 and have just had a hysterectomy as the result of having ovarian cancer. Thankfully, I had my son Benjamin before all this. I cannot have any more children.

My illness was first diagnosed as irritable bowel syndrome. That is why I am right behind Sarah's efforts to raise the awareness of ovarian cancer.

There are so few gynaecological support nurses, so it is vital that women are aware of the dangers.

I was inspired by Sarah's determination and pray for a successful remission for both of us.

LAST June I went into hospital for a hysterectomy. I had been diagnosed as having a fibroid, but doctors discovered I had ovarian cancer.

I had six months' chemotherapy and after a scan in December, I was told I was in remission. What concerns me is the lack of information about the illness.

Consultants and doctors are reluctant to talk about my future and continually tell me how well I look.

That's why I am glad Sarah is hoping to start a support group. It would be wonderful to be able to talk to people experiencing the same worries.

I HAD ovarian cancer in 1988. It was a borderline case and I now have a daughter of four. I recovered, but have had many "scares" since and know what you are going through. I wish you all the luck in the world.

I WAS so moved by your story, Sarah, I had to write to say how incredibly brave you are. I admire your strength and I wish you luck in your battle against cancer.

You'll live to see Michele's birthday because you are determined. Whatever happens, she will always know how special you are.
