Zipcar Announces Partnership with XM Radio.

XM Satellite Radio recently announced that car-sharing innovator Zipcar has begun offering XM's 150-channel, commercial-free digital radio service to all its customers.

XM said Zipcar, which has more than 35,000 members and maintains for-rent fleets in 21 cities around Boston, New York, and Washington, DC, is offering the radio service at no extra cost.

"Thousands of city residents drive Zipcars every day," said XM president and CEO Hugh Panero. "This presents a great opportunity to promote our service and introduce hundreds of thousands of savvy urban drivers and their passengers to the next generation of radio."

XM noted that Zipcars will be outfitted with either the XM Direct universal tuner or the XM Commander.
