Ziff Davis launches Baseline Information Services; new magazines.
Ziff Davis Media (New York) and Baseline magazine, a title that covers the deployment of information systems in large enterprises, have launched Baseline Business Information Services (BIS), a new business unit that will develop ROI selling tools to help technology suppliers market their products and services more effectively. The new unit is an extension of the magazine's mission, Ziff said.The services provided by the unit are to be an outgrowth of the tools showcased in Baseline, including project planners, assessments, and ROI calculators relating to new technologies, project performance and forecasting. The services arm will help companies assess the viability of undertaking specific Information-systems projects. The unit will also provide research of technology projects, infrastructure audits, and readiness assessments.
Ziff chairman/ceo Robert Callahan said the new division "will provide accurate independent analysis for senior level decision-makers."
In related news, Ziff Davis has launched PC Magazine Singapore and PC Magazine Malaysia. Both will be published monthly and are designed to provide technology buyers and related professionals with evaluations and recommendations of IT products and services available In their local markets. The titles will also carry product testing results and will Import a minority of editorial under license from Ziff. The majority of editorial will be written by staff.
