A licence agreement for the integration of eZiText Chinese onto Wi-Fi handsets using the WinCE platform, has been signed by Zi Corporation (Nasdaq:ZICA) (TSX:ZIC), a provider of intelligent interface solutions, and BCM Communication Co Ltd (BCM), a designer and manufacturer of Wi-Fi mobile phones.
Zi will receive up-front and licence fees under the terms of the contract with BCM, along with per-unit royalties on handsets sold to customers of BCM. Zi said the agreement solidifies its expansion into the mobile Wi-Fi sector and is expected to create opportunities for other Zi products and languages to be included on BCM's products.
According to BCM, the Zi product suite is reliable and market proven and is suited to integration with the company's handset technology.
