Zee News editors get bail relief.

ZEE News editors Sudhir Chaudhary and Samir Ahluwalia, arrested in connection with the alleged ` 100 crore extortion bid from Navin Jindal's firm, were granted bail by a local court on Monday.

After spending 20 days in Tihar jail, the two editors reunited with their families on Monday evening. They were released on furnishing a bail bond and surety of ` 50,000 each. The court also directed them to surrender their passports and not leave the country without its permission.

The court on Saturday had reserved its order on the bail plea after hearing them for around five hours during which the Delhi Police had opposed their application.

The Zee News Limited counsel said: " Both editors joined the investigation on many occasions whenever their presence was requisitioned.

They undertake to co- operate with the investigation agencies and appear as and when called for. There is no likelihood of them tampering with the evidence or influencing witnesses."
