Zaya Launches Wellness Centre in Dubai aimed at Community Service Through Individual Development.
KAYAN, a holistic wellness centre focusing on community service through individual development, was launched on October 4th 2010 at the centre's first location on Al Wasl Road, Dubai, by Zaya, the UAE-based luxury boutique real estate developer responsible for the iconic project Nurai, headed by Emirati entrepreneur Nadia Zaal.
Drawn from the Arabic word of 'form', Kayan was founded in recognition of the importance of holistic wellness, self development and empowerment, which are the essential building blocks in bringing peace and harmony to the community.
Kayan works with certified trainers to offer courses that can help people to unlock their deepest potential and rediscover peace and joy in their lives, enabling them to transform themselves, and in turn, transform the communities around them.
The techniques, which centre on harnessing the power of breathing, yoga and meditation, nurture self-knowledge and create a more positive, and centered existence.
Led by Zaal and co-founders Sangeeta and Vinay Kapoor, both certified trainers with the Art of Living Foundation -- one of the world's largest volunteer-driven NGOs -- Kayan will focus its activities on women and youth programs, social rehabilitation, environmental protection and disaster relief programs.
Commenting on the inception of the Kayan concept, Zaal says: "The idea of developing Kayan came about from my personal experience with some of the courses offered by The Art of Living Foundation.
On introducing some of these stress-relief programs to my colleagues and social acquaintances in the past, I realized that the value of these techniques is essential to helping one lead a more rewarding life and allowing them, in turn, to extend their help to others in their personal quest to find fulfillment.
The techniques and philosophy guiding the creation of the Kayan concept build on the desire by many High Net Worth Individuals to give back to the community through philanthropy, as well as on their need to engage in stress-elimination techniques that help them cope with their high-pressure and performance-driven lives.
"Zaal adds: "At Kayan, you will reconnect with your heart, you will heal your body, and you will nurture your spirit, and by doing this you will help others around you.
I sincerely believe that Kayan will empower people on a beautiful life-changing journey both for themselves and for others around them".
The centre aims to act as a catalyst of change, bringing together communities in need with people looking to make a difference to the world.
Kayan's programs hope to instill in individuals a greater sense of confidence, strength, self-esteem and community belonging.
Its social rehabilitation programs provide tools to eliminate negative emotions and impulses that lead to crime, while its environmental care and disaster relief programs focus on nurturing sensitivity for the planet and creating a strong foundation of spirituality and peace of mind among victims of disaster.
"At Kayan, we believe that individuals need to be content and fulfilled before they can help others, and this self-realization is an important achievement that the courses here at Kayan help individuals attain," says Vinay Kapoor, who will focus his training activities on corporate in need of stress eleimination techniques.
"Our programs focus on physical, mental and spiritual well-being and teach powerful techniques to help people deal effectively with negative emotions and stressful relationships and situations.
The idea is that these individuals will then be more centered and content, and therefore in a better position to serve as agents of change in the wider community.
"Kayan teaches techniques that represent a complete lifestyle choice.
The results make themselves evident in every sphere -- regular practitioners report experiencing more enthusiasm and energy in daily activities, greater harmony in relationships, possess the ability to withstand stressful situations, a fuller sense of awareness and spirituality, and a greater desire to serve the community they live in.
"At Kayan, there is a strong accent on fostering the collective values that we all share and I am happy for Zaya to be a part of a life-changing contribution to the community we all live in" concludes Zaal, a personal practitioner and champion of the techniques on offer.
