Zardari to visit Russia.

ISLAMABAD, Aug. 13 -- President Asif Ali Zardari will visit Russia next week to attend a quadrilateral meeting being hosted by the Russian government.

Foreign Office spokesman Abdul Basit while replying to a question at weekly briefing here on Thursday, said, "President Asif Ali Zardari is not paying an official visit to Russia but he is proceeding there to attend a quadrilateral meeting summoned by the Russian government."

The spokesman said the heads of state of Russia, Pakistan, Afghanistan and Tajikistan would attend this meeting to discuss the regional issues, particularly the present situation in Afghanistan.

Basit said that the time had come for the international community to "do more" and donate generously for the flood victims on UN's appeal.

Regarding the Mumbai attacks, he said that the option of video conference for exchange of information between investigators was under consideration.
