Zambia : ZNBC signed MoU with MUVI to show 2013 FIFA CONFEDERATION CUP & 2014 WORLD CUP FINALS.

In order to telecast the 2013 FIFA Confederation Cup and the 2014 World Cup finals, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has been inked involving the Zambia National Broadcasting Corporation (ZNBC) and Muvi Television at the Muvi Television offices at Levy Park recently.

During the signing ritual, the Station General Manager - Costa Mwansa has expressed his satisfaction over the partnership involving the two television stations, which facilitated cooperation among them.

The official has further said the reports on the competition amid the two stations are not true, and Muvi thinks the national broadcaster as its senior in the industry.

He has added that the joint venture has reiterated ZNBC s friendly ties with Muvi and further stated that despite following different approaches, the two television stations are not rivals.

Mwansa stated, It is rare that the two television stations meet together in a joint venture to televise the games for the local people to watch. People think there is rivalry between the two companies, but as Muvi we consider ZNBC as our big brother in business.

He has revealed that the affiliation will facilitate the Zambians to enjoy the World Cup matches without leaving the comforts of their homes.

ZNBC Director (Marketing) - Chika Phiri has stated that the endeavor will necessitate huge-level of group effort and conviction involving the two partners.

According to him, collaboration amid the two television stations will be advantageous for the viewers.

Phiri has revealed that in the event of two matches going simultaneously, the audiences will be able to enjoy both the games live via ZNBC and Muvi, as they will be broadcasting accordingly.

He said. All games will be beamed live, and there are cases when they are two games taking place at the same time, the viewers should not worry, because ZNBC will be showing one while Muvi TV will be showing the other one they won t miss out on any action.

The Committee Member of the Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) - Jeff Chipilingo, in the meantime, has stated that they are extremely happy seeing the partnership amid the two television stations to broadcast the matches to the Zambians.

Chipilingo has further said that the Association believes that the move will facilitate broaden the exposure.
