Zambia : ZABS seeks Govt. support to build mobile testing labs at the cost of Au900,000.

Zambia Bureau of Standards (ZABS) has sought Government and donor support to build about nine mobile testing laboratories across the country.

The project will cost a total of about Au900,000.

The mobile testing laboratories will allow ZABS to test products at source and accelerate feedback process to the user and the producers of the products being tested.

ZABS laboratory manager Nicodemus Malisa said the testing device will help solve issues of contamination of products as they will undergo tests.

He said : "The advantage of having mobile testing facilities is that the producers are given feedback quickly, they can improve on the operations and also ease transportation as the long distances covered compromise the quality of samples such as opaque beer."
