Zacks Provides Consensus Data for Morningstar's CPMS U.S. Equity Market Service.

CHICAGO -- Zacks Investment Research, Inc. has entered into an agreement with Morningstar Research Inc., a Canadian subsidiary of Morningstar, Inc., to provide Zacks Consensus Earnings Estimates and Analyst Ratings data to clients of Morningstar's CPMS U.S. Equity Market Service, which provides complete fundamental coverage on more than 2,200 companies. Morningstar products fully integrate fundamental data and expected earnings estimates that allow for a wide range of analytical applications. Zacks estimates will enhance Morningstar's ability to leverage research from Wall Street brokerage analysts in creating multi-factor quantitative models that rank U.S. equities based on value, income, growth and/or momentum characteristics.

"Zacks has proved that earnings growth is one of the primary drivers of stock prices. To the extent that Morningstar clients can use Zacks earnings estimates to forecast growth potential in the stocks contained in their portfolios, they can better position their holdings to maximize returns," said Bryant Sheehy, Director of Business Development for Content and Data at Zacks Investment Research, Inc.

One of the interesting features of the data provided to Morningstar's CPMS U.S. Equity Service is the ability to look at changes in the earnings estimates and analyst ratings over the last 30-, 60-, and 90-day periods to see how Wall Street's expectations have been evolving for each stock.

Zacks Investment Research provides institutional and individual investors with the analytical tools and financial information necessary to the success of their investment process. Founded in 1978, Zacks' early contribution to investment analysis was the discovery that earnings per share estimate revisions are the most powerful force affecting stock prices. This discovery is built into the Zacks Rank proprietary methodology for predicting stock price performance. The Zacks Rank has produced average annual returns in excess of 28% since 1988. Today Zacks produces data feeds for estimates, ratings, earnings report data, fundamental data, and institutional holdings for US and Canadian traded equities, as well as investment research reports and research software tools for investors.
