ZYCAD ANNOUNCES EXPECTATION OF SECOND QUARTER LOSS AND WORK FORCE REDUCTION

 FREMONT, Calif., July 29 /PRNewswire/ -- Phillips W. Smith, president and chief executive officer of Zycad Corp.(R) (NASDAQ: ZCAD), announced today that the revenues for the second quarter ended June 30, 1993, were $9.5 million, approximately the same level as in the previous two quarters. Accordingly, the company will reduce its work force by approximately 20 percent and will include the restructuring costs in its results for the second quarter, which will be released next week. The company expects to report both an operating loss and a net loss after the gain on its sale of 50,000 shares of Synopsys Inc. common stock.
