ZURN RECEIVES CONTRACTS TOTALING $125 MILLION TO BUILD
 TWO COMBINED-CYCLE POWER GENERATION PLANTS
ERIE, Pa., Oct. 6 /PRNewswire/ -- Zurn Industries, Inc. (NYSE: ZRN), a leading designer and manufacturer of Power Systems and Equipment, and Water Control Products for environmental applications, has received combined-cycle cogeneration power plant design and construction contracts totaling $125 million from Sithe Energies U.S.A., Inc., and Vineland Cogeneration Limited Partnership, which is managed by Cogeneration Partners of America.
For Sithe Energies, Zurn/NEPCO will design and build an 80-megawatt facility in Ogdensberg, N.Y. The new plant will include a Zurn multi-presssure heat recovery system that uses waste heat from gas turbine exhaust to produce steam for power generation and commercial use. Electricity produced at the new facility will be sold to Niagara Mohawk and steam will be sold to the State of New York Office of Mental Health. Construction is scheduled for completion by the end of 1993. The Ogdensberg project is the fourth built by Zurn for Sithe Energies; three earlier projects are in operation.
The contract from Vineland Cogeneration Limited Partnership calls for Zurn/NEPCO to design and build a 47-megawatt combined-cycle cogeneration power plant in Vineland, N.J. The Vineland plant will also include a Zurn multi-pressure heat recovery steam generator. Electricity generated at the plant will be sold to the City of Vineland and steam will be sold to Progresso Foods. Construction will begin immediately and the project is expected to be complete in the summer of 1994. The Vineland facility is the second Zurn-built project managed by Cogeneration Partners of America. The first, a 120-megawatt facility, is now in operation in Pedricktown, N.J.
