ZURN ANNOUNCES FLUIDIZED BED TECHNOLOGY AGREEMENT
 WITH EBARA AND MITSUI
ERIE, Pa., Jan. 24 /PRNewswire/ -- Zurn Industries, Inc., (NYSE: ZRN) a leading designer and manufacturer of power systems and equipment, and water control products for environmental applications, today announced that it has signed a development agreement with Ebara Corporation and Mitsui Co. Ltd. covering the application of fluidized bed technology in combustion of industrial waste materials and coal to produce steam for power generation and other uses.
Under the terms of the agreement, Zurn will assist Mitsui/Ebara with their U.S. sales efforts and will manufacture and erect Ebara's fluidized bed combustion systems in the United States, Canada and Mexico. This unique Internally Circulating Fluidized Bed (ICFB) technology -- considered among the most advanced in the world -- is well suited for multi-fuel applications burning industrial waste materials and coal in the automobile, chemical, pulp and paper, and food processing industries as well as for use in power generation by utilities and independent power producers. Projects will be pursued with Ebara and Mitsui taking primary responsibility for basic engineering and sales activity.
