ZIP 250 INTERNAL SCSI DISK DRIVE INTROD BY WINSTATION SYSTEMS.

Winstation Systems Corporation has announced OEM availability of the Winstation internal SCSI ZIP 250 Disk Drive.

At 32 mm or 25.4 mm in height, the Winstation drive uses familiar ZIP 100 mb and 250 mb Iomega diskettes while incorporating the SCSI interface for use in a multitude of industry applications that require the advanced technology. The Winstation SCSI ZIP Disk Drive provides the OEM with alternatives that disappeared in 1999 when Iomega decided to discontinue the Internal 100 mb SCSI Version.

"The Winstation SCSI ZIP 250 Disk Drive is perfect for the imbedded server market, Kiosk Systems and of course your PC applications across all operating systems," said Jill Colee, Marketing Vice President at Winstation Systems. Colee continues, "Winstation's entry into the SCSI ZIP market is a valuable asset to the OEM and VAR who initially integrated the product into their system architecture. Not only does the Winstation solution allow the OEM to continue the integration, but will have access to after-market support and new replacement.

This technology opens the door for thousands of OEM, Industrial and PC applications that otherwise would have had no choice other than going back to the drawing board, a costly adventure."

"Winstation's Technology and long running understanding of the Data Storage Industry has enabled us to create a superior and reliable product for the OEM channel," said Russell J. Horn, C.E.O. of Winstation Systems. "The goal of Winstation is to continue to offer our expertise in interface technology which can be used to fill the gaps in widely used products such as the internal SCSI ZIP 250. It is one of many steps in what Winstation sees as being a contributing player in combining our interface technology with such popular products as the Iomega ZIP."

The internal SCSI ZIP drives are available in the standard 25.4-mm (one inch) high form factor (June 2001) for all industry 3.5" bay applications. It is also available today in 32-mm (1-5/16") height when 5-1/4" applications are required or the O.E.M. has an extra high 3.5" bay.

SCSI ZIP 250 mb drives use the same standard 3.5-inch ZIP 100/250 diskette and is 100% compatible with the recording media that has originated from standard connected IDE and been formatted or written using any other interface such as IDE and SCSI.

The Winstation ZIP 250 disk drive utilizes SCSI I and SCSI II technology and is compatible with most industrial software plus Windows 3.x, Windows 95, Windows 98, NT, Windows 2000, MAC, Linux and Unix, BSO and Wind River operating systems.
