ZIFF DAVIS TO LAUNCH MAG FOR IT PROFESSIONALS IN OCTOBER.
The new title will have a controlled circulation of 150,000 IT industry professionals, including VPs of information systems/information technology and/or management information systems, as well as CIOs, CTOs, and related senior executives. The company said the magazine will provide analysis and reporting on how to cost, deploy and manage IT solutions "in today's increasingly complex world."
Ziff Davis said the decision to launch the title is partially based on a study it conducted on the Web-based business solutions market. Editor-in--chief Tom Steinert-Threlkeld said "our focus group and quantitative research among senior IT and corporate management shows that they require in-depth reporting, interpretation and analysis of the business strategy and technical implementations of IT solutions." The target audience "is seeking specifics on decisions made throughout deployment and follow-up results on those projects," he said.
The company said that each issue will include a detailed examination on how companies deploy IT solutions, lessons about whether the technology deployment met its baseline, what ROI metrics were used and the tradeoffs involved in their deployment.
Ziff Davis said the launch expands its suite of products serving the senior IT marketplace. Other related Ziff Davis publications include eWeek and CIO Insight, launched this year. Other company titles include PC Magazine, Interactive Week and Smart Partner.
