ZIFF DAVIS TO LAUNCH "CIO INSIGHT" IN MAY; REACQUIRES WEB ADDRESSES.
The new title is designed to serve "the strategic information technology (IT) and business information needs of its targeted audience," including chief information officers, chief technology officers, and vice presidents of information services/information technology and/or management information systems. Editorial will help readers with their business goals and objectives with information on strategic deployment and application of IT solutions and services, Ziff Davis said.
Editor-in-chief Ellen Pearlman said that "CIOs need strategic information they can trust. Our research shows that CIOs are looking for qualitative and quantitative research, strategic perspective and insightful opinions from respected experts, and that's what we will deliver." Publisher Stephen Veith said the title, using ZD Media's "industry-renowned circulation formula," "will give marketers access to the most desirable segment of an increasingly important part of the business equation."
Ziff Davis Media publishes 13 consumer and business magazines, including eWeek, PC Magazine, Interactive Week, The Net Economy, Smart Partner and Smart Business for the New Economy.
In related news, Ziff Davis has revised a licensing and publishing agreement with CNET Networks (San Francisco, CA) and has regained control of the Web addresses for 11 of its magazines. Ziff Davis will continue to share content from the magazines with CNET for one year. Under the previous arrangement, CNET would have retained control of those Web addresses and access to the magazines' content through 2005.
