ZIFF DAVIS CUSTOM TO LAUNCH "STATE TECH"; ZD CLOSES "EXPEDIA TRAVELS".
Ziff Davis Custom Media (New York), the custom and contract publishing unit of Ziff Davis Media, has begun the publication of State Tech magazine with an October issue. Produced for CDW Government, a division of CDW Computer Centers (Vernon Hills, IL), the new quarterly magazine has a controlled circulation of 100,000 senior-level IT professionals at state and local government agencies.Ziff said that editorial includes case studies of technology deployments, interviews with CIOs who are using technology to streamline processes and analysis of current issues and trends, such as privacy and security. Regular features include information on national initiatives that effect local government technology decisions and an examination of the government technology "landscape."
State Tech publisher Cameron Brown said that the new title is designed to "provide government CIOs and IT buyers with the tools that they need to put this information to work to solve business problems."
In related news, Ziff Davis Media will cease publication of Expedia Travels effective after the November issue. Published six times a year, the consumer title was launched with a November/December 2000 issue.
