ZEOS INTRODUCES NEW MULTIMEDIA SYSTEMS

MINNEAPOLIS, Feb. 22 /PRNewswire/ -- Customers who order upgradable desktop systems from ZEOS International, Ltd. (NASDAQ: ZEOS) now have the option to upgrade to a complete CD-ROM-based multimedia system, the company announced today.
For an additional $599, customers receive a Sony internal CD-ROM, Media Vision's award-winning 16-bit stereo sound card, Labtec amplified speakers, and several best-selling CD games and educational programs, including Compton's Family Encyclopedia, Broderbund's "Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego?" and several games. All components are factory-installed and exceed MPC (Multimedia PC Marketing Council) specifications.
"We're pleased to provide our customers with this upgrade," said Greg Herrick, chairman and CEO of ZEOS. "The combination of ZEOS' upgradable processor, high-speed local bus video card, and ability to display over 16.7 million colors, make this one of the highest quality multimedia systems on the market.
"Customers have the advantage of crisp, powerful CD-quality sound, an on-board mixer, MIDI interface, and a fully powered stereo amplifier," he said. "And all components are MPC-compliant, so that our customers have assurance that they will be able to handle future multimedia applications."
One of the most important components of the package, said Herrick, is the sound card. "The Media Vision sound card we provide has a fast 16-bit bus interface that enhances the card's performance. A 20-voice synthesizer virtually puts an orchestra in your PC. You can synthesize almost any kind of instrument, and create a wide range of sound effects," he added.
According to Herrick, multimedia isn't just for play anymore. "We're seeing it used more and more on the corporate level, for presentations, training and point-of-sale," he said.
