ZEOS ANNOUNCES AVAILABILITY OF THREE NEW PROCESSORS INCLUDING THE NEW
INTEL486 DX2 FOR ITS LINE OF UPGRADABLE PCs
ST. PAUL, Minn., March 3 /PRNewswire/ -- Reflecting its longstanding commitment to bring outstanding products rapidly to market, ZEOS International, Ltd. (NASDAQ: ZEOS) today announced the immediate availability of three additional microprocessors, including Intel's just-introduced Intel486(R) DX2 microprocessor, as options for its existing line of upgradable personal computer systems.
Starting at $1995 for a complete system with hard drive and monitor, the new 50MHz 486DX2 system provides very high performance computing at near entry level prices.
Gregory E. Herrick, president of ZEOS International, said: "We are very pleased to offer this new Intel486 DX2 microprocessor option for our customers. By taking advantage of Intel's new speed doubling technology, our customers can enjoy very high performance with extreme reliability and very reasonable prices. In our view, this system delivers tremendous value to the consumer."
Herrick continued: "Because the new microprocessor is 100 percent compatible with its predecessor, the Intel486 DX microprocessor, this ZEOS product presents a high performance option not only for users ordering new systems, but also for current owners of ZEOS 386, 486SX and 486DX upgradable systems, who can easily install a new 486DX2 module into their current system."
In addition to the Intel486 DX2, ZEOS also announced today the immediate availability of the Intel486 SX running at 25 MHz and the Intel486 DX running at 50 MHz. Of these processors, Herrick said: "The Intel486 SX option is an excellent entry point for today's desktop applications. With complete ZEOS 486SX-25 systems starting at only $1595, this is clearly an excellent option for users who want to run today's more demanding software yet don't want to spend a lot of money."
Herrick continued: "The new ZEOS 486DX system running at 50 MHz is the most powerful system that ZEOS has ever offered. Besides being an excellent system on which to base a file server, we have priced the ZEOS 486DX-50 as low as $2195 so that it is also an excellent choice for those wanting the ultimate in desktop computing power."
ZEOS offers its customers the opportunity to custom-configure systems to their exact specifications. Options for the new systems include, among others, high speed memory ranging from 1 to 32 megabytes, hard disk drives from 42 megabytes to 1.1 gigabytes, high resolution color displays and tape backup units. ZEOS Windows systems feature a suite of software including Microsoft Windows 3.0, MS-DOS 5.0, Lotus 1- 2-3 for Windows, Lotus Ami Pro 2.0, Adobe Type Manager and WinRIX.
