ZEOS' NEW OCCIDENTAL UNIT COMPETES FOR LOW-END BUSINESS

ZEOS' NEW OCCIDENTAL UNIT COMPETES FOR LOW-END BUSINESS Occidental Systems, a Wholly Owned ZEOS Subsidiary, Offers Low Priced
Systems to Compete with Dell Dimension and Compaq ProLinea Lines
New Company Designed to Complement ZEOS Sales
ST. PAUL, Minn., Aug. 25 /PRNewswire/ -- ZEOS International, Ltd. (NASDAQ: ZEOS) today responded to a report in the Wall Street Journal about its new Occidental Systems subsidiary by describing the new subsidiary as the perfect fit for the low end mail order marketplace.
Gregory E. Herrick, ZEOS International chairman and chief executive officer, said: "We indicated in late July that we would shortly be introducing a new, low-priced line of personal computers that would bear a new brand name, and that would compete against the lowest-priced offerings of our major competitors.
"Occidental Systems is that new, low-priced line. Already up and running, Occidental offers three technologically advanced upgradable systems designed to best anything competitors such as Dell Dimension or Compaq ProLinea has to offer. There should be no question that the target competition are these lower-end offerings from Dell and Compaq. As such, the Occidental product line, with its narrower feature set as well as different sales and support programs, is completely separate from that of ZEOS.
"Occidental systems are designed with fewer features and fewer customization options to appeal to the more budget minded buyers. At the same time, Occidental products are powerful, high quality, low cost systems offering delivery and service value consistent with the expectations of these price-sensitive customers.
"Meanwhile, we are very excited about the new line of ZEOS systems recently announced which offer an incredible feature set available from few, if any, other manufacturers. These new ZEOS systems represent everything ZEOS has become famous for -- very high quality, high performance, highly customizable systems with 24-hour, 365 day a year, toll-free service, and prompt delivery. They are complemented, not cannibalized, by the lower-end Occidental offerings.
"ZEOS became the fastest growing company in America by offering personal computer buyers outstanding value, quality, delivery speed and award winning technical support. With Occidental Systems as a stand- alone unit alongside our well established ZEOS line, we are giving more customers more of what they want, be it the lowest price, the highest levels of quality, performance, service, or any combination of the two.
ZEOS International, Ltd., manufactures and markets, direct to end users, ISA and EISA (Industry and Extended Industry Standard Architecture) personal computer systems and workstations based on the Intel 80486SX and DX microprocessors worldwide under the ZEOS name. The company also provides manufacturing services under the name NPC Electronics, distributes passive electronic components through its Parts1 distribution division and provides contract product design services through its PC Tech subsidiary.
