Youth organization is helped out by A-B

The Youth Opportunities Foundation (YOF) was recently awarded a grant from Anheuser-Busch Cos., according to Ray Jasso, corporate relations field manager, Anheuser-Busch. The grant was made on behalf of Budweiser beer and its local distributor, Bay Distributors of Redondo Beach, CA.

The YOF, a non-profit, tax-exempt California corporation, was founded 26 years ago to better the educational opportunities for young people from the Hispanic communities of California and to provide scholarship aid to outstanding college students.

Since 1964, the YOF has developed elementary, secondary and post-secondary programs and provided financial aid to more than 6,000 students.

Grants are awarded to top graduating high school seniors based on superior scholastic performance, SAT scores, and leadership.

The grant will be used to support the organization's development and to provide financial aid to deserving students.

"I commend the Youth Opportunities Foundation for rewarding the brightest and most promising scholars from Hispanic communities throughout California," said Jasso. "Because of their dedication, students from all over California are given the opportunity to reach their full potential through a university education."

The grant is part of a nationwide program of support undertaken on behalf of Hispanic organizations by Anheuser-Busch, its products and its wholesalers.

"Through the years, Anheuser-Busch Companies have supported our program and have further enhanced the educational experience for California students," said Felix Castro, executive director of the YOF.
