Youth favors stream.

Teenagers and younger kids would rather watch streaming television than play videogames. But often parents get to decide

Streaming TV Is the favorite entertainment delivery option for viewers 8-18, according to a recent PricewaterhouseCoopers survey, topping watching cable/network programming, seeing movies and playing videogames, among other options. That said, live viewing of network TV is still what they spend more time actually watching: Audiences at the younger end of this demographic spend the most time with traditional entertainment, watching on average 7.3 hours a week of network shows or movies on linear TV, vs. 6.2 hours a week viewing subscription VOD channels, and 5.8 hours a week streaming TV shows or movies to laptop, tablet or phone. To influence what younger audiences view, it's best to target the whole family: Parents decide what media content their kids and teens watch slightly more often than what these young viewers decide to watch for themselves.
