Your views on Lorne Jackson: Heroic winners deserve praise.

Byline: RAY WILLIAMS

LORNE Jackson may not rate Ellen McArthur's feat in sailing round the world single-handed in record time but there are many landlubbers like mewho do.

Of course, you could fly around the world in record time, but it would be plain sailing with no obstacles to block your path.

I doubt if Lorne Jackson wouldhave theself-discipline to achieve any world record, apart from Bore of the Year.

Ellen would get my vote for Sports Personality of the Year.

The British people are well known for applauding heroic failures. When we do get a heroic winneryou always get some lazy armchair critic like Lorne Jackson running them down.
