Packed full of Irving Berlin's greatest hits including Cheek to Cheek, Top Hat, White Tie & Tails, Let's Face the Music & Dance and Puttin' on the Ritz, Top Hat tells the story of Broadway sensation Jerry Travers who dances his way across Europe to win the heart of society girl Dale Tremont. Alien Ant Farm O2 Academy Cast your minds back to 2001 when long before The X Factor, Popstars was the TV talent show of choice, its winners Hear'say broke records with their debut single and album and the late and great Sir Bobby Robson was in charge at St James'.
But back to the music charts and a little known American rock band landed a huge UK hit with a Michael Jackson classic.
The band in question are Alien Ant Farm and the song? Smooth Criminal of course. Years after MJ first asked 'Annie are you OK?', the band took the song to number 3 in the UK and number 1 in countries across the globe. And they're back on the road and in Newcastle tomorrow night.
