Your Sheep.

Your Sheep, by Paula Simmons and Darrell L, Salsbury, DVM; Your Rabbit, by Nancy Searle; $12.95 each; Garden Way Publishing, Pownal VT 05261.

These two new "Kid's Guides to Raising and Showing" are aimed at 4-H and other youngsters. They cover the basics, include some additional facts for fun, and are cheerily designed and written to attract young readers.

But most older readers could probably learn something from them too--and not only basic care and feeding. For example, the process of making felt from wool is something any sheep-raising homesteader could use. Included are suggestions on making mittens and hats from the home-made felt.

(Author Salsbury is well-known to Countryside as the sausage-making veterinarian. See page 56 of this issue).
