Your Say - Daily Poem; THE VICAR COULDN'T MAKE IT.
The vicar couldn't make it, he did the wedding on the phone,
He was ringing from a call box just near his flooded home,
The organ started playing, the guests began to sing,
With best man at the ready to offer up the ring.
When the singing was all over, the vicar read a psalm,
The best man still was ready, ring firmly in his palm,
Phone lines started playing up, the sound all cracked and funny,
The vicar had to stop it there,
He'd just run out of money.
