Your LIFE: TRIED & TASTED.. FOOD AND DRINK.

Byline: JACOB'S CREEK

A FEW good independents including Woody's in Jordanstown, the Ava in Bangor, Tipplers in Moira and KWM in Kilkeel have Jean Pierre's wines.

The Pouilly Fuisse AntHilde which La Gavroche was after is not cheap at pounds 19.95 a bottle but I dare say the few bottles they got are a lot more than a score.

Fear not if you're a bit skint and try their Macon Solutre a just pounds 7.99.

Gap have Jean Pierre's stuff too as well as L'Aurore Macon Lugny 2004, priced at pounds 6.99 which they assure me is an excellent example of the style.

If you fancy trying the red stuff give M&S's Macon Rouge a try for just pounds 5.99.

Classic Wine on the Upper Newtownards Road in EAst Belfast has Cave de Vire - Vire Clesse (or very classy) 2004 at pounds 9.99 plus the excellent 2005 Macon-Village at 7.99 from Jean Curial.
