Your LIFE: Alert over baby bottles; HEALTH NEWS.

Byline: BY MADELEINE BAILEY

ONE in 10 parents are putting their baby's health at risk by not sterilising bottles and feeding equipment properly, says a new survey.

Three thousand parents questioned by sterilising experts Milton found one in three of those who sterilise do it only once a day rather than before every feed, as the NHS recommends. And a quarter stop at six months - the time when a baby's developing immune system is at its weakest.

Bacteria left in bottles are putting babies at risk of sickness and diarrhoea.

Milton has issued a free guide, Keeping Your Home Baby Friendly and Germ Free, which also includes advice on your baby's immune system, the worst germ hotspots and ways to deal with common ailments.
