ST Nicolas Community Centre in Nuneaton opened on October 9 as a registered charity, with the aim of uniting a culturally diverse community, through events, clubs and celebrations.

We want to encourage the people of our community, regardless of age, race or impairment, to network. We pride ourselves on our extensive facilities.

Boasting a contemporary hall, disabled access and a fully equipped kitchen, we are an ideal location for celebrations. There is also an outdoor patio area which is both child friendly and child safe. Our centre is new and exciting. Its sole aim is to improve community life in the area, through offering affordable facilities.

The hall can be hired out for clubs and gatherings. THE Belles of Three Spires were delighted to be invited to perform at the Annual General Meeting of the Heart of England Community Foundation earlier this month. We were invited to sing for them as part of their evening's entertainment provided by the beneficiaries of the Heart of England Community Foundation.

We have been so thankful to the Heart of England Community Foundation for accepting our applications for grants in the last two years. In 2009 we won our bid for a pounds 2500 grant towards stage wear. Without their support we would not have been able to provide new posh frocks for the chorus to perform in. This will be a vital component of our competition package as we enter our national championships in a few weeks time. The Belles of Three Spires, Coventry's premier ladies Barbershop Chorus, will be representing Coventry at the National Championships of the Ladies Association of British Barbershop Singers on October 30, in Llandudno.
