Young musicians take to the stage.

YOUNG musicians will be showing off their skills at the South Glamorgan Festival for Young Musicians in Cardiff.

It offers young musicians of all standards the opportunity to perform in front of an audience.

The festival is open to young singers, pianists, percussionists, brass, wind and string players.

Non-competitive classes give inexperienced performers the chance to join in and gain confidence, while competitive classes invite the very best to win medals and trophies.

The competition will take place on May 2 and 3 at the Cathedral School, Llandaff.

Entrants aged from five to 18 years old can participate in both non-competitive and competitive classes.

Entry forms and updated rules are available from the festival website at www.sgfym.org.uk

The closing date for entries is March 7.
