JACK Williamson and Alan Caffery, the top two junior players in the city, helped Smiths Wood Bribar A clinch second place in the First Division of the Birmingham Summer League.
The duo both gained maximums in a 9-1 mauling of Sutton A.
Nabil Khalfey, another young prospect, won two singles for Sutton B in their 5-5 draw with Streetly A.
Martin Round also won two for Sutton, with the pair also teaming up for doubles success.
Runaway leaders Colebridge A humiliated their B side 10-0.
West Midlands Police A also had a 10-0, against Smiths Wood B, but the Smiths youthful trio of Tim Moy and Mitchell and Perry Nash have all gained valuable experience in the competition.
Smiths Wood supremo Simon Upson has an interesting decision to make as to where these talented youngsters will play in 2008/9.
Beaufort Sports A have already claimed the Division Two title and Harry Sideras and Jon Ludlow proved far too strong for Smitehreens in a 9-1 battering.
Bournville were other 9-1 winners, over Sutton D.
Smiths Wood C crushed Sutton F 10-0 in Division Three.
Sohail Alishaan was a maximum-man for Baverstock C in their 6-4 win at Sutton G in Division Four.
Lodge Road beat Smiths Wood D 7-3, with Tony Shim starring.
Rob Rowson kept his unbeaten record for Beaufort Sports B in their 8-2 success at Monarch, for whom Steve Wright maintained his second place in the individual list with two singles wins.
Entries are coming in for the 2008/9 season, with the Birmingham League having high hopes of yet another increase in teams.
