Kirklees Council in talks to buy the George Hotel in Huddersfield Why not set up a cooperative so the people of Huddersfield can all have a share in the George Hotel? Steve Bushell The main issue I would have thought is the lack of parking, therefore a hotel, gym, anything like that wouldn't be practical.

Jean Crowe Needs a compulsory purchase order as it's a blot on the square for people arriving in our town. If it's not made back into a hotel facility it would be a crying shame. Maybe it should be run as a project for college students, i.e. chefs in training, housekeeping, hotel management course, then there is the trades for refurbishment - learning on the job is far more valuable than a classroom. Also teaches the younger generation to have pride in their work.

Sea Gayle Need to buy it, then get into talks with the RFL.

Rugby League World Cup coming in 2021. Mock up the original room where 21 clubs met to break away from the RFU in 1895 and get tourists into town.

Neville Wright I personally can't see a problem with this if they pay the owner ONLY the same as he paid for it.
