Lidl store set to be built on site of derelict former Spotted Cow pub at Salendine Nook Will the council now install pelican crossings instead of the current zebra crossings? Trying to drive up New Hey Road during the time when the school is turning out is a nightmare as children talk to each other and use their phone whilst crossing the road in dribs and drabs. Motorists have no chance, crossings with lights would help both parties.

Michael Hopkins Too close to Salendine Nook Shopping Centre.

Oakes and Lindley need the store. There's lots of elderly people in both areas so Lidl should put the store where originally planned to allow them a store on their doorstep, not two supermarkets close together and nothing in the rest of the area!

Graham Dyson Shame the local councillor can't understand that the infrastructure and services that local people want are school places and doctors, not a supermarket a few hundred yards from an existing one.

Christopher Hirst Better than houses though adding more pressure to already existing lack of school places and doctors' surgeries.

Alison Moor All good for the consumer.
