You cannot learn care; MAN OF THE PEOPLE.
ANYONE who wishes to become a nurse will need to have a degree within four years - why? The minimum level is a two-tothree year diploma. That's hard study for a less-than-generously paid career. I am all for rewarding people who work hard in terms of hours or qualifications, but what will this achieve? Is it to fill universities with this government's obsessive fixation on third-level education? Or is it to provide us with doctors on the cheap? If hitting the books gains nurses a higher rank or higher pay grade, then Hear, hear! If it stamps out hospital bugs, Hear, hear! But if it puts off or denigrates the average man or woman who has a vocation to care for the sick, then I find it a hard pill to swallow.
