Cricket 2005

PS2 - pounds 39.99

THE Aussies have landed, ahead of one of the most eagerly anticipated Ashes series in recent memory, but can you lead England to victory against the very best on PS2, or will Shane Warne and co bowl you a googly?

EA's cricketing efforts have always provided a user-friendly interface and in-game excitement, and this updated release is no exception.

One major addition to this update is the new explosive Twenty20 tournament, plus all the domestic county cricket teams and tournaments are also on offer.

Although it could be more exciting to watch the real thing than turn to your console for a knock, deep gameplay together with simple yet intuitive controls and cracking graphics make Cricket 2005 well worth a look. 4/5

Xbox - pounds 39.99

RAZ is a man on a mission. With an arsenal of paranormal powers, including fire-starting, clairvoyance, and the ability to launch himself telepathically into someone else's mind - he is out to stop a deranged scientist from abducting students from the Psychonaut boot camp.

Jumping into the mind of others gives rise to some of the most creative and jaw-dropping platforming levels you're ever likely to have seen.

A smart and humorous script that is expertly delivered ensures you'll enjoy every minute of this escapade - but lap it up because this game is painfully short and will leave you hungry for more. 4/5

Tekken 5

PS2 - pounds 39.99

AFTER the completion of The King of Iron Fist Tournament 4, a fierce battle between father and son unfolded at Mishima Zaibatsu headquarters.

Hold on, does anyone really care about the storyline in Tekken games? All we want to know is what the fighting's like.

Well, after the disaster that was Tekken 4, this is a return to form.

Graphically stunning and packed with unlockable content and enjoyable mini-games, this is a veritable feast for 3D fight fans. 4/5
