Yoga Factory Celebrates 10 Years of Making Pittsburgh a Mindful Community.

Pittsburgh, PA, March 06, 2018 --( Yoga Factory Celebrates 10 Years of Making Pittsburgh a Mindful Community; Yoga Destination in Lawrenceville Celebrates a Milestone with Guest Instructors and School Expansion

On October 12 and 13, 2018, Yoga Factory Pittsburgh will celebrate a decade of bringing top-quality instruction in the Original Hot Yoga (Bikram) method and several other styles of yoga to the greater Pittsburgh community. The school's 10th Anniversary Weekend will include hosting the PA Invitational Yoga Championship, Battle Asana, and a series of master classes and workshops by some of the most renowned instructors in the hot yoga world.

The fierce leader of this Pittsburgh gem is Zeb Homison, 2014 International Yoga Champion, who took on ownership of the school in 2010, formerly known as Bikram Yoga Pittsburgh. In the past 8 years, Zeb has watched the school grow into a family of dedicated, disciplined practitioners that believe in yoga as a way of life: "They have turned what used to be a small yoga school into a thriving community. They support each other in and out of the yoga room and I love seeing that play out on a daily basis," says Homison. While some people turn to yoga to get fit, Yoga Factory students recognize that the practice of yoga allows people to be more mindful of themselves and their surroundings, control reactions to the stresses that affect our everyday lives, and self-heal through connecting body, mind, and spirit.

Yoga Factory will culminate its 10th Anniversary season in October, but has other exciting plans beginning this spring. Jared McCann, international yoga instructor and founder of Lighthouse Yoga School in New York, will lead several of his signature style Vinyasa classes and other workshops from May 18-20, 2018. Other guest teachers projected to visit this fall include Gianna Purcell, world-traveling yogi and principal instructor at 105F in Chicago; Gabriel Tavera of Austin, TX, founder of WAY (We Are Yoga) based in Florida; and Mary Jarvis, one of the most sought after instructors in the hot yoga community.

Yoga Factory Pittsburgh also has sister schools in Annapolis and Crofton (owned by Emily and Philip Vendemmia), and the newest co-owned location in Washington D.C. at the District Wharf. This flagship school represents the start of a fast-moving effort to provide quality instruction and training in yoga asana for students in the northeast region, and hopefully beyond. Homison says, "Yoga Factory is taking a big step. I really believe in the way we teach, the way we share the idea of yoga, and how it can change people's lives. I'd love to see that idea grow and create a community that isn't just one school or one city." Zeb, Emily, and Philip look forward to hosting their third annual Yoga Factory Teacher Training in the Original Hot Yoga series this summer at Yoga Factory D.C. from July 9-August 18, 2018.

Yoga Factory Pittsburgh also looks forward to expanding its already versatile space, opening up the walls of an upstairs yoga room to increase capacity and an outdoor rooftop deck for additional summer yoga classes and events. These improvements will help make for a truly memorable 10th Anniversary weekend in October.
