Yobs warned to keep away from derby.
Police will be out in force in Wolverhampton and promised a "robust response" to any hooligan activity.
Officers will carry out high-visibility patrols around the city centre before, during and after the game.
Fans planning to drive into the city were reminded to think about simple crime prevention measures, removing sat navs, mobile phones and car stereos to deter opportunist thieves.
Ch Insp Jo Chilton, who oversees local policing in Wolverhampton, said: "We want football fans to be able to enjoy the match without the fear of crime.
"We'll be on hand to ensure everyone behaves themselves and to provide a high-visibility presence to deter opportunist criminals who are keen to exploit the high number of visitors a game like this attracts."
