Speaking to Sudan Tribune, Bol expressed his concern regarding the cattle raiding taking place between Unity State and Yirol East County and said it needed urgently attention from the Government of Southern Sudan. He said he believes that an outline of proper policy on how the government will deal with the situation is required due to the approaching referendum. Bol said that his mission is just to bring unity and to improve the moral of the Yirol East County community. Early on Friday morning, thousands of people lined up along the roadside to welcome newly appointed commissioner Bol. Community leaders of Yirol East County slaughtered ten bulls in his honor. "I am very happy for the excellent reception which the community has displayed -- I will work hard to show them that the right time for the fulfillment of their needs is now, with my appointment as their commissioner". "I am preparing to bring peace and unity among [the] youth and [the] entire community of Yirol East County to vote overwhelmingly for the secession of South Sudan's independence in January 2011". Bol expressed gratitude to outgoing county ex-commissioner Athian Majak Malou for his courageous work since his few months in office. "If security is normal, automatically referendum will be achieved in Southern Sudan" said commissioner Bol. "I am just a military man -- I have no political background and now I have accepted the appointment to serve my community as commissioner" he added (ST)
