Yemeni Prime Minister Stresses Imposing Sanctions on Hindering GCC Initiative.

Sana'a, Rajab 16, 1433, Jun 6, 2012, SPA -- During his last visit to Turkey, Yemeni Prime Minister Mohammed Salem Basindwah said that he asked Ban Ki-moon, Secretary General of the United Nations, to urge the international community to help Yemen go further steps to implement the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC0 initiative and its executive mechanism.

In a key speech during the founding meeting for promoting human rights, organized by Yemeni Ministry of Human Rights, Basindwah said that the U.N. Secretary General stressed the international community's determination to impose sanctions on anyone tries or seeks to hinder the GCC initiative and its executive mechanism.

The Yemeni Prime Minister added that Ban Ki-moon confirmed consensus of the international community to impose sanctions against completing implementation of the political settlement.
