Year of the Laity activities.

Manila, Philippines - In observance of the Year of the Laity, series of talks will be held at Layforce, San Carlos Pastoral Formation Complex in Guadalupe, Edsa, Makati City every third Saturday of the month starting on January 18 and until Dec. 13, 2014.

Dubbed "The Light of Faith in the Heart of the Laity" (Liwanag ng Pananampalataya sa Puso ng Pinoy), the year-long activity will be held from 8 a.m. to 12 noon and will be aired live over Church-run Radio Veritas with a delayed broadcast by TV Maria. Admission is free.

Manila Archbishop Luis Antonio Cardinal Tagle will lead the series of talks on January 18 which will focus on the topic "Laity and the Emergence of a New Filipino Culture."

A Lenten recollection, "Laity in the Light of Faith" will be held on March 15.

The Catholic Bishops' Conference of the Philippines (CBCP) has declared the year 2014 as the Year of the Laity.
