Yardy extends Sussex contract; SPORT SHORTS CRICKET.

SUSSEX captain Michael Yardy has signed a two-year contract extension with the county.

The 31-year-old England all-rounder will remain at the PROBIZ County Ground until the end of the 2014 season.

Yardy missed parts of last season after flying home from England''s World Cup campaign on the sub-continent due to depression and revealed he was determined to repay the club for their support following his return.

He said: "Sussex have shown a lot of understanding and patience with me over the last year.

"I am very focused and determined to produce my best cricket over the next few years.

"I am proud to be captain and lead a talented and committed squad who are hungry for success."
