The organisers deserve a pat on the back for mounting the huge money- spinning operation, which will cement the close ties between Ireland and the US.
It will also provide the tourism industry with the kind of publicity that money just can't buy.
The Shamrock Classic organisers deserve special praise for getting the GAA die-hards to open up the best stadium in the country to a "foreign game".
Who knows, before long we could even see Mick McCarthy's Green Army cheering on the national soccer team from the hallowed steps of Hill 16.
