YOUR VOICE: STEIN JOKE NOT FUNNY.

Byline: Michael Whyte

WHEN I sat down to watch the opening episode of Mike Basset, Manager, I soon found myself changing the channel in disgust.

This was prompted by a scene in which one of the older characters died at a football match and Ricky Tomlinson's character made a joke about Jock Stein [legendary Scotland manager who died during an international match in Wales in 1985].

I found it to be in very bad taste and it overstepped the mark. I certainly won't be watching that show again and would urge other people to switch off.
