As you reported last week, it has been a decade since Sir Tom Jones last played a gig in Pontypridd. It would great for his hometown to welcome him back again. There is still so much pride in him in South Wales. MARGARET ALTON Pontypridd ANN Clwyd has been an extraordinary MP.
Her fellow Parliamentarians would do well to try to emulate her.
Her willingness to speak out on issues like Iraq and healthcare - even against prevailing public opinion - are a testament to her strength of character.
She will be deeply missed, both in the Cynon Valley and across the UK.
PETER MORRIS Hirwaun A POLL has shown the Tories leading Labour on economic competence by a stonking 15%.
That is a deficit Shadow Chancellor Ed Balls will never eliminate. So there must have been near panic in the ranks of Labour's high command as their lead over the Tories slipped to 1%.
Ed Balls has learned nothing and forgotten nothing. Even as voters turn against Labour, he is still planning a splurge with money we don't have.
