YOU SAY: Jamie's a hero.

Byline: M. Bolton

I AM writing regarding the article (ECHO, July 1) about Jamie Carragher's Freedom of Sefton.

Jamie is the salt of the earth, Bootle-born and brought up. I am Secretary of Flame Spirit Golf Society, which raises funds for sick children. When we have a charity do at Bootle Golf Course, Jamie and his father are the first to donate signed football shirts and footballs. He has been doing this for the past six years.

Every time you ask the lad, he is right there. He's never forgotten his roots and he always tries to help local kids
