YOU'RE WRONG; Chis Euro war cry.

Byline: By Hugh Keevins

GORDON CHISHOLM last night pleaded for his Queen of the South side to stay calm in Europe tonight and prove their doubters wrong.

Chisholm knows the eyes of the country will be on them but he doesn't want his players to get over-excited.

The First Division side face Nordsjaellan as the unlikeliest UEFA Cup competitiors since Gretna fell at the first hurdle against Derry City two years ago. And Chisholm wants his players to be composed and not kamikaze at Airdrie's ground.

He said: "We have to prove the whole country wrong about us.

"And we need to remember we're not representing Queen of the South or Dumfries but Scotland as a whole.

"It's natural to write us off but we're capable of achieving a dream. Negative talk spurs us on.

"I'll take any result so long as it involves keeping a clean sheet and making a game of it when we go to Denmark for the return leg."

Queens made Europe as Scottish Cup runners-up to Rangers last May.

Morten Wieghort's side are in the competition because they won their country's Fair Play league.

Chisholm makes that level pegging when it comes to assessing the chances of progress.

He said: "They are big, powerful and pacy. We have to be temperamentally strong, composed and not kamikaze.

"If our concentration goes we'll get punished."
