YORK FINANCIAL CORP. SECOND QUARTER EARNINGS INCREASE AND DIVIDEND INCREASE ANNOUNCEMENT

 YORK, Pa., Jan. 19 /PRNewswire/ -- York Financial Corp. (NASDAQ: YFED), parent company of York Federal Savings and Loan Association, announced increased net income for the second quarter ending Dec. 31, 1992, of $2,135,000 or $.49 per share.
 This is an increase in net income of 11.3 percent as compared to net income of $1,919,000 or $.48 per share in the same quarter of the previous fiscal year. Net income for the six months ended Dec. 31, 1992, was $3,966,000 or $.91 per share versus $3,573,000 or $.89 per share for the prior year-to-date period. Year-to-date earnings are 11 percent ahead of the previous year.

 Additionally, the board of directors at its regular meeting declared an increased cash dividend. A $.16 per share cash dividend is to be paid on Feb. 16, 1993, to stockholders of record on Feb. 2. This represents a 10 percent increase in the cash dividend paid in the previous quarter ($.16 per share adjusted for a 10 percent ordinary stock dividend distributed subsequent to the dividend payment for an adjusted dividend of $.1455 per share). This is the 10th consecutive year the company has paid an increased dividend.
 York Financial Corp. has assets in excess of $864 million and is the largest independent financial institution headquartered in York County.
