YLD seeks pro bono award nominations.
Nominations are being accepted for the Young Lawyers Division Pro Bono Award, which offers recognition from The Florida Bar and the Florida Supreme Court for young lawyers who have donated time to make legal services available to the poor. The YLD Pro Bono Award recognizes the public service or legal aid performed by a young lawyer who provides outstanding contributions to those in need of legal services.
YLD President John Stewart said he knows the time commitment faced by young lawyers attempting to do pro bono work is somtimes daunting and that underscores the importance the division put on the award.
The YLD is looking for nominees who have voluntarily contributed a significant portion of time in providing legal services to the indigent without charge, or have participated in pro bono programs like the legal aid society or local bar association pro bono projects.
Nominations for the YLD Pro Bono Award are due on November 1 and can be found on the YLD Web site at www.flyld.org.
