YLD seeks award nominations.
The Diversity Award that recognizes the person and/or entity that demonstrates the "highest morality and respect for all persons and diversity, for efforts and allegiance to creating diversity and promoting a more diverse workplace." The YLD defines diversity as encouraging more gender, racial, ethnic, religious, and other minority participation in law schools, the practice of law, in all areas of the law, including private, corporate, and public or government practices. The YLD will make a donation to the recipient's charity of choice. Nomination deadline is April 1.
The Outstanding Young Lawyer Award that recognizes a young lawyer affiliate in Florida for excellence in public service, member service, and creative use of resources. Nomination deadline is April 15.
The Outstanding Jurist Award that honors a judge with an excellent reputation for sound judicial decisions and an unblemished record of integrity as a lawyer and judge and demonstrates concern for and willingness to assist young lawyers. Nomination deadline is April 15.
The Lynn Futch Most Productive Young Lawyer Award that honors a young lawyer who is not a member of the YLD Board of Governors, who has worked most diligently in the past year in Bar activities and/or law related public activities and who has an excellent reputation for legal abilities and integrity. Nomination deadline is April 15.
The Most Outstanding Public Service Project that recognizes a public service project presented by a local young lawyers section, division, or committee exclusively or in cooperation with one or more young lawyers groups. The project must serve the public and community, enhance the relationship of young lawyers to the public and community and be innovative. Nomination deadline is April 15.
Most Outstanding Member Service Project, which recognizes the most outstanding member service project presented by a young lawyers section, division, or committee exclusively or in cooperation with one or more young lawyers groups. The project should internally serve young lawyers and provide for membership enrichment and be innovative. The project must be conducted exclusively by the young lawyers of a local section, division or committee being considered. Nomination deadline is April 15.
Quality of Life Award that recognizes a person and/or entity that advances balance and fulfillment in lawyers' lives by redefining current work habits and schedules to provide more flexibility and a more meaningful existence. The YLD will make a monetary donation to the recipient's charity of choice. Nomination deadline is April 15.
